2017 Black Friday Pen Shopping Guide
The hype on Black Friday can be overwhelming, especially for an analog thinker that isn't as savvy shopping online as most folks in today's age. After checking our e-mail Friday morning, we've put together a 5-star list of promos and tips on shopping Black Friday / Cyber Monday for pen people.
This list is limited to online deals, as stationery shops mostly exist online and are, by far, more easily accessible by the masses.
Before we get started, a couple of quick tips:
Buying the cheapest is usually not the best option. Be wary of deals that are "too good to be true" on sites like eBay and Amazon. Lamy Safari's, Mont Blanc and other brands are often subject to counterfeiting. For that reason, we recommend shopping small with authorized US retailers.
Also, most Japanese pen brands could be purchased for less directly from Japan, but they are considered "gray market" imports. Warranties from Sailor, Pilot, and Platinum would not apply in the USA for products purchased overseas. They simply won't service your pen, even if it is still within the warranty timeframe.
